Karl Lagerfeld is pure genius (as always) and his Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 runway show at Paris Fashion Week didn’t disappoint. This gorgeous runway show took place on Tuesday, October 5 inside the Grand Palais in Paris and former Chanel model 53-year-old Inès de la Fressange also joined the show. Seeing images of the the Grand Palais location was enough for me to stop studying and start playing slideshows of the entire fashion show. Chiffon and feather-detailed dresses contrasted the model’s harsh smokey eye. Chunky Chanel bangles piled high on the model’s wrists. The classic Chanel tweed suit (owning one may or may not be a life goal of mine) was shown in spring-y pastels. As much as I’m soaking up fall fabrics, colors and layers, the Chanel S/S 2011 show left me lusting for warmer weather. This show was nothing short of beautiful, and the images below will prove it.
Obviously I enjoyed how Fashionista.com explains the finale: As Karl entered the room to take his bow to the sound of The Verve’s “Bitter Sweet Symphony,” he took Inès’ hand. They circled around the room like king and queen. We bow to you, Karl. Yes, we do. I couldn’t have said it better myself. Happy Thursday!
