There's a hole in my sidewalk.

I.
I walk down a street and there’s a big hole.
I don’t see it and fall into it.
It’s dark and hopeless and it takes me a long time to find my way out.
It’s not my fault!

II.
I walk down the same street.
There’s a big hole and I can see it, but I still fall in.
It’s dark and hopeless and it takes me a long time to get out.
It’s still not my fault.

III.
I walk down a street.
There’s a big hole.
I can see it, but I still fall in.
It’s become a habit.
But I keep my eyes open and get out immediately.
It is my fault.

IV.
I walk down a street.
There’s a big hole.
And I walk around it.

V.
I walk down a different street.

>>>Whenever I’m in an outfit rut, I gravitate toward Gossip Girl outfit inspiration. Whether channeling my inner preppy, polished Blair or trendy, boho-chic Serena, I usually find a look to base my outfit around. All four of the GG seasons have showcased fabulous clothing, but Season 4 outfits are dead-on gorgeous. Alsooo, GG costume designer/stylist Eric Daman has a style book—highly recommend! Have a stylish and inspiration-infused day!

Daughter of Grace

grace noun

“undeserved love, acceptance or favor. An unearned blessing or gift.
>>>Daughter of Grace by Twila Paris

She went down so low, thought she’d never ever find the surface again
Went so far astray thought she’d never find her way back home
Hated to think about the past almost as much as
She hated to think about the future
She sat down inside to wait, to rest her mind a while
No use trying to fight with fate or fake a smile
There she found the end of herself; heard a small voice crying for help
And she was….

Carried in the arms of love and mercy, breathing in a second wind
Shining with the light of each new morning, looking into hope again
Unable to take another step; finally ready to begin
Born for a second time in a brand new place
Daughter of grace

She spent half her life working hard to be someone you had to admire
Met the expectations and added something of her own
So proud of all that she had done; where was the glory?
So proud at all she had not done
‘Til she knelt beneath a wall that will could never scale
Broken and discovering that she could fail
There she found the end of herself; heard her own voice crying for help
And she was…..

Carried in the arms of love and mercy, breathing in a second wind
Shining with the light of each new morning, looking into hope again
Unable to take another step; finally ready to begin
Born for a second time in a brand new place
Daughter of grace

Grace is there for everyone, grace is always free
We must all depend on grace, especially me, especially me
I have been

Carried in the arms of love and mercy, breathing in a second wind
Shining with the light of each new morning, looking into hope again
Unable to take another step; finally ready to begin
Born for a second time in a brand new place
Daughter of grace

>>>This song encompasses the journey I’ve been on lately; reminding me that my past and future do not define me, my accomplishments and failures do not define me, my ups and downs do not define me. I’ve been given grace; undeserved love, blessing and acceptance. The love God has given me is completely undeserved and unmerited. In fact, I deserve quite the opposite. This song reminded me that it’s not too late to change, it’s not too late to take another path, it’s not too late to wholeheartedly accept grace.

14th Bday

>>>Today is my youngest sister Hope’s 14th birthday! The picture above is me (the ecstatic and proud older sister) holding her a few weeks after she was born. It’s surreal that she is already 14 because I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday! It’s been chaotic, bittersweet, exciting and eye-opening watching her grow up. Despite the mini argument that she is smarter than her three older sisters, she has been nothing but a joy to our family. So excited to spend the rest of the weekend with her & the rest of my fam! xo!

AVH

>>>Paris designer Anne Valérie Hash’s fresh and feminine Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection is seriously making me need warm weather. AVH describes her collection inspiration: “You know how you look when you’re in love, that rosy glow? That’s how I wanted the clothes to look.” She incorporated drapey fabrics like georgette, mousseline, washed leather, and cotton jersey. Tailored blazers, pants and tops contrasted against the loose and breezy feel and I. absolutely. need. those. jersey. overalls. More images here and on Style.com. Happy Friday! I’ve never been craving the weekend more than I have this week! Enjoy, xo

Burberry's Art of the Trench

>>>Are you absolutely in love with Burberry’s ART OF THE TRENCH website!? You can view different images of Burberry trenches and filter by popularity, gender, styling (belted or unbelted), color (dark, classic or other), weather, or collaboration. The Burberry/Sartorialist collab is my favorite!

>>>Take a break from staring at your computer during class or work and seriously check out the site. This is my type of history lesson…studying beautifully crafted coats. I apologize for posting 2x in one day, but I had wanted to share this awhile ago! For more trenches from each decade visit THE STORY OF THE TRENCH. xx
